Relief Operations

Though its infrastructures and equipment were destroyed and has limited resources, GDFI was able to effectively distribute relief goods to the victims of super typhoon yolanda in Eastern Samar.

  • Food packs, hygiene kit, clothes and water from RAFI to at least 3,200 families.
  • 2,700 (to date) food packs and some medicines from an online group 'Love for Guiuan' (mostly Guiuananons from Metro Manila) were also successfully served by the foundation. .
  • Tessie Tomas provided 5 power generator sets and used clothing, which will be given to select barangays.
  • 28 Portable water filters, from Foreign NGO's Cadena and Rescue Global, to 11 barangays, mostly in Guiuan and Salcedo (including 2 island sanctuaries).
  • 5 sacks of assorted canned goods, 3 sacks of used clothing from University of the Philippines.

Below are list of individuals and groups that have provided immediate assistance (financial, material, manpower, etc.) to the foundation and its relief operation. The help was also critical in providing logistics, administrative support, operations, etc. This is very much appreciated, the foundation could not have resumed its work with the communities, specially in this time of need, without it.
